Join Joe in an exploration of textural applications in Abstract compositions. This two day workshops allows for appropriate drying time when using textured mediums in Abstract applications on canvas and paper. You’ll learn about creating a wash, glazing over textured surfaces to create exciting, energetic composition. Joe will introduce you to some of his ideas on composition, color theories, and techniques that he uses when creating his work on paper and canvas. This workshop will surely broaden your spirit of exploration! Let your creative process go wild.
Supplies to bring:
Acrylic Paint: Titanium White, Black, required Suggested -Transparent Red Oxide, Indian Yellow, Phthalo Blue, Phthalo Green, Parchment, (Unbleached titanium or titanium Buff) Napthol Red
Brushes – A small set of flat brushes- Pro Stroke Powercryl Flat LH Brush Set) #4 round Long Handle Brush 2” Primer brush A few palette knives (T42, S61 suggested or Soho Plastic Palette Knife Set)
Mediums- a jar of Modeling or Molding Paste (Jerry’s, Liquitex or Golden)
Pencils – A Jerry’s Jumbo Jet Black Pencil or Ebony Graphite Pencil
Paper – A good quality Watercolor Paper, Fabriano 140lb Cold Press- 2 full sheets (22” x 30”) are required.
Canvas:- Any size you feel comfortable with (Suggested 12×12, 18×24”, 24×24, 24×30)
Paper Towels and water buckets provided.
