    • Description

A Legendary Printmaking Paper for Artists Who Demand the Best

Magnani 1404 Pescia Printmaking Paper is a premium, all-purpose printmaking paper made from 100% cotton, combining historical craftsmanship with exceptional quality. Produced by the Magnani paper mill in Italy—renowned for over 600 years and trusted by artists like Picasso and De Chirico—Pescia paper delivers an elegant balance of softness, strength, and versatility.

Each sheet is mould made on a slow-rotating cylinder to evenly distribute the cotton fibers, then pressed onto special felts and dried, resulting in a smooth surface with delicate sizing. This process makes the paper ideal for a wide variety of printmaking techniques including etching, intaglio, aquatint, stone lithography, and silkscreen. With four deckled edges, a subtle watermark, and no optical brighteners, Pescia provides both beauty and archival stability for serious artists.
