High Gloss Varnish for Brilliant Finish and Long-Term Acrylic Protection

Liquitex Professional High Gloss Varnish is a fluid, 100% acrylic polymer varnish designed to protect acrylic paintings while providing a rich, reflective sheen. This varnish enhances color vibrancy and depth, seals the surface from dirt and pollutants, and shields artwork from UV-related fading or damage. It dries to a hard, flexible, and crystal-clear finish that resists yellowing and fogging—making it ideal for both interior and exterior display. Translucent when wet, it levels into a smooth, high-gloss surface that adds a professional, gallery-ready look to your finished work.

Best applied in thin, even layers with horizontal brush strokes, High Gloss Varnish is suitable only for use over fully cured acrylic paintings. It should not be shaken, overbrushed, or thinned with water, as this can introduce bubbles or cloudiness to the finish. While not compatible with non-acrylic media, it integrates seamlessly with Liquitex acrylic systems and adds a durable, non-tacky layer that is ideal for pieces being shipped, handled, or exhibited.
