Soft Natural Chamois for Blending and Erasing Dry Media

These soft, natural leather cloths are ideal tools for artists working with charcoal, pencil, soft pastel, and other dry media. Chamois skin is naturally absorbent and gentle, allowing you to blend and shade without damaging delicate surfaces. Unlike using fingers—which can transfer oils and cause discoloration—chamois cloth provides clean, precise blending. It can also be used to lift pigment or lighten areas with subtle control. Artists often cut the chamois into small pieces to suit various blending needs.

After use, the chamois is easily washable. Simply soak in warm, soapy water and hand wash, or use a washing machine with detergent (no softener), then hang to dry out of direct sunlight. Once dried, the leather becomes stiff but can be softened again by rubbing it against itself or another clean piece of chamois. This reusable tool is a studio essential for anyone working with dry media.
